Registration
    Information:

      • The Power of Attorney could be filed belatedly within 30 days from the filing date at an extra cost. This document can be used for filing any number of applications in the name of the same applicant.

    2. Examination up to Publication: 3 months
    3. Opposition Period: 3 months from the publication date
    4. End of opposition period up to issuance of registration certificate: 1-2 months
    5. Total estimated time frame: 14-16 months
      6. The above time frame is for a normal/smooth processing of a trademark application, in case of no objections by the trademark examiner or no oppositions from a third party.

    Filing Requirements:
    1. A Power of Attorney duly legalized up to the Jordanian Consulate.
Change of Name or Address
    Filing Requirements:
    1. A Power of Attorney duly legalized up to the Jordanian Consulate; and
    2. Certificate of change of name, legalized.
      • May be recorded for registrations only.
      • For change of address, no additional documents are required other than POA.
Assignment
    Filing Requirements:
    1. A Power of Attorney duly legalized up to the Jordanian Consulate; and
    2. Deed of assignment, legalized.
      • Trademarks may be assigned with or without the goodwill of the business concerned.
      • The POA must not be older than 1 year.
      • May be recorded for registrations only.
Merger
    Filing Requirements:
    1. A Power of Attorney duly legalized up to the Jordanian Consulate; and
    2. Certificate of merger, legalized.
      • The POA must not be older than 1 year.
      • May be recorded for registrations only.
License
    Filing Requirements:
    1. A Power of Attorney duly legalized up to the Jordanian Consulate; and
    2. License agreement, legalized.
      • License recordal is not compulsory but highly advisable in order to be effective against third parties.

PATENT

    4. Two copies of specifications, claims, abstract and drawings; and
    5. A certified copy of the basic patent application.
Change of Name or Address
    Filing Requirements:
    1. A Power of Attorney duly legalized up to the Jordanian Consulate; and
    2. Extract from the Commercial Register showing old and new name, legalized.
Assignment
    Filing Requirements:
    1. Power of Attorney from assignee and assignor, legalized; and
    2. Assignment document signed by assignee and assignor, legalized.
    • Extract from the Commercial Register of assignee must be submitted for pending patents.
Merger
    Filing Requirements:
    1. A Power of Attorney duly legalized up to the Jordanian Consulate; and
    2. Merger document, legalized.
License
    Filing Requirements:
    1. A Power of Attorney duly legalized up to the Jordanian Consulate; and
    2. License agreement, legalized.
    • Documents must be translated into Arabic upon submission and accompanied with a simple English translation if made in a foreign language.

    4. A description of the design describing its novelty, for publication purposes.
      • Representations of the design and copy of certificate of incorporation must be submitted at the time of filing, all remaining documents may be submitted within 2 months of filing date.
